The Symbolism of the Eagle as a Spirit Animal

The eagle’s symbolism encompasses strength, freedom, and vision, offering a powerful guide for those who feel connected to its spirit. A Personal Lesson From an Eagle

The world of animal communication had just opened up to me. I wanted to practice on other species besides my dogs. I went to a sanctuary and came across an Eagle. I reached out to communicate and offer some gentle distance energy work with this eagle. Although there was a placard providing information of this specific eagle, I chose not to read it before I connected with it because I didn’t want to taint what I felt and “heard” from this eagle with any preconceived notions. I asked the eagle if I could practice communicating with it because I was just learning. I was shocked when I heard and felt this scolding energy coming from the eagle and it said, “Nonsense! You know how to do this!” The doubts these experiences were still strong and this eagle sensed that. It was blunt about that message that I knew this was real and I had this skill so in other words, stop the nonsense of doubt. I wasn’t quite ready to believe though and I asked if it would please accept my offering of energy work and when done if it would raise its wings to let me know it received this energy work, I’d be most grateful. As I worked on the eagle, my left shoulder began to ache terribly. I thought it was my discomfort but when I had finished providing this gentle energy to the eagle, it did what I asked. But instead of raising both wings, it raised one. The left wing I saw was amputated at the shoulder. The validation was fully met and understood. I stood there facing the eagle with such gratitude for its lesson. It looked directly and deeply into my eyes and held eye contact. Then with the most piercing sound, it cawed twice at me. From that moment on, I focused on learning how to use these skills versus trying to prove to myself it was real. I let that go and fully believed and a new life path began in that moment.
